Through the usability testing process, I gained valuable insights into the importance of observing user behavior. By paying close attention to participants' body language and facial expressions, I was able to identify areas of frustration or confusion. This allowed me to probe further and uncover underlying issues that may not have been immediately apparent

Testing The Functionality Of The App
I conducted usability testing for my styling app to evaluate its user-friendliness and overall effectiveness. The aim was to identify any usability issues and gather feedback to enhance the user experience. My testing involved a series of tasks designed to mimic real-world usage of the app’s key features.
Participants: I was able to conduct testing on 4 participants.

I further did the a user journey mapping to further establish the app's structure and foundation by organising features and content logically.
Establishing the app's structure and foundation
User Journey
After a deliberate approach through this process, I streamlined the final features that solve the problem to three key solutions.
After solidifying the flow concept, the next crucial step I did was to visually conceptualise its structure through wireframing. Wireframes served as basic blueprints, outlining the app's layout, content, and functionality without delving into design aesthetics.
Automated Outfit Suggestions: Using AI algorithms to provide daily outfit recommendations based on weather and events
Personalised Styling with virtual closet: AAllows users to experiment with different outfits and see how they look on a virtual body.
Body Type Analysis: Use AI to analyse users’ body types and suggest flattering outfits.

Busy users who needs a quick and easy way to decide what to wear each day because they often feels overwhelmed by the number of choices and wants to feel confident and appropriately dressed for various occasions.
How might we simplify the process of choosing outfits for our users to reduce their decision-making time?
How might we help users balance comfort and style when dressing for various occasions?
How might we provide personalised fashion advice with appropriate colour coordination that boosts users' confidence in their outfit choices?
How might we deliver outfit recommendations tailored to users' body types and style preferences?
Style-conscious users struggles with mixing colours and matching pieces based on body type to create cohesive looks and wants to ensure outfits are both comfortable and stylish.
User values comfort and fit, they finds it difficult getting outfit recommendations, they finds it challenging to balance comfort and style, especially when dressing for social events and parties.
By starting with 'How Might We' questions and a deep understanding of user Points of View, I was able to craft ideated features that effectively addressed user needs and pain points.
Problem Statements
Crafting ideated features into tangible and actionable product functionalities.
After establishing a solid foundation with wireframes, I moved on to high-fidelity design. This stage involved transforming the wireframes into visually appealing and interactive prototypes.

Background
The objective of this project
Each time I have an outing or occasion, I face the same problem. I stand in front of my closet, overwhelmed by the number of choices but still unable to decide what to wear. It's not just about picking an outfit; it's about feeling confident and dressed right for every occasion.
I've realised that many people have the same struggles. They wonder, "Does this outfit look good on me?" "How do I mix and match my clothes and combine colours?" and "What should I wear for this specific event?" Even with a full wardrobe, feeling like you have 'nothing to wear' is very common.
The objective of this project is to develop a personalised fashion advice and styling application that simplifies the process of choosing outfits, addresses common struggles related to wardrobe selection, and empowers users to feel confident and stylish in their clothing choices.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
This daily dilemma leads to wasted time, reduced productivity, and a negative impact on their self-esteem
The app offers automated daily outfit suggestions based on weather and events, analyses body types to suggest flattering outfits, and includes a virtual wardrobe with try-on features.
Turning the above challenges to “ How Might We “
How can we simplify outfit selection to save users time, provide tailored recommendations for confidence, and help them balance comfort and style for various occasions?
People feel overwhelmed and unsure when choosing outfits, struggling to find clothing that fits well, suits their personal style
User Experience Challenges:
Some users may find the interfaces of these apps cluttered or difficult to navigate, which can detract from the overall experience and lead to frustration.
Time and Uncertainty in Dressing:
Users spend a significant amount of time dressing and often feel uncertain about their outfit choices.
Size and Fit Inconsistencies:
Despite efforts to provide customised clothing options, users might still encounter issues with size and fit, leading to returns and dissatisfaction.
Influence of Comfort and Occasion:
Comfort and the specific occasion are major factors influencing outfit choices. Balancing these aspects presents a challenge.
Dependency on User Input:
The accuracy of recommendations often heavily relies on the quality and quantity of user-provided data, which can vary, resulting in less effective styling or shopping suggestions
Outfit Suggestions and Planning:
Users appreciate suggestions and recommendations for outfits based on specific occasions and value tools for planning their outfits.
Challenges in Dressing for Social Events:
Users find it particularly difficult to dress appropriately for social events and parties.
Valuable Fashion Services:
Users value services that help with colour coordination and provide body type analysis.
Finding appropriate clothes for different occasions sometimes leads to stress and frustration despite having full wardrobes.
Solutions provided by the App
Additionally, some end up wearing outfit colours that don't match or clash, which can further diminish their confidence and overall appearance
Insights that guide and determine my design direction.
I analysed five different products to understand their unique features, strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities that could be adopted in my design.
Analysing these competitors reveals similarities in personalised recommendations and community features, with opportunities to enhance user interface design and streamline processes for a superior user experience.
To gain valuable insights for the development of my personalized styling app, I conducted interviews with 5 fashion enthusiasts. These conversations provided a deeper understanding of their styling preferences, challenges, and expectations from a personalised fashion platform.
Additionally, I generated 20 responses from a survey designed to gather broader input on user needs and preferences. This combination of qualitative and quantitative data has equipped me with the knowledge to create a more tailored and user-centric app experience.
While I acknowledge the strengths of these competitor products, it's important to note that I have also identified common weaknesses, I will leverage on these areas in this project.
After gathering the insights from the interviews and survey, I conducted affinity mapping to identify patterns and key themes. This process helped me uncover common user needs and pain points, which will guide my design and development stage.

The confidence boost user highlighted fromo effective colour coordination, feeling well-dressed and confident in your appearance can have a positive impact on user overall well-being.
The importance user gives providing highly personalised recommendations based on user data and preferences.
Key Learnings from Interviews: Crafting Themes and Pain Points
After the competitive analysis, I interviewed various styling enthusiasts, including personal shoppers, and everyday users, to gain deeper insights into their needs and preferences.
Interview
After sorting out important insights from the interviews, I used empathy mapping to better understand how users feel and what they want. This helped me design a styling app that meets their needs and addresses their frustrations and desires.
Understanding User Feelings and Thoughts
Empathy Mapping
Using empathy mapping to understand users' feelings and desires, I created detailed personas that reflect various user needs and behaviours. This guided my design direction to an effective styling app.
Based on each HMW (How Might We) problem I identified, I developed corresponding features. During the brainstorming stage, to generate more ideas, I highlighted potential reverse ideas and how to address them.
Additionally, I considered some constraints the project might encounter and proposed solutions to overcome them.
